Benchmark Furniture

Pull were chosen to develop a contemporary, user friendly website that would allow Benchmark to start selling their products online for the first time.

This involved moving Benchmark’s existing website to Kentico CMS Ecommerce with a new designed and revised architecture. The new site would have to rely heavily on large product images and full screen slideshows to emphasise the quality of the products and the style of the company.  It also included using Kentico’s features to organise Benchmark’s product and category structure in a logical way, and allow content editors to easily edit the content.

One of the biggest challenges we faced with this project was to create multi-level product options. We needed to have a system that linked groups of product options, this enabled a group to be shown based on the selection of another option. An example of this would be selecting “Paint” as the finish and then the option to select the colour would appear.

We achieved this by modifying the way product options display in Kentico, adding in a logic layer which communicated with the product type to add control over the option display.

Although the requirement for this functionality was complex, by using & extending Kentico’s features we were able to achieve our goal.

We used Kentico’s custom relationships to create a “size variant” relationship. The client can relate other sized products to an existing product, the size options are then displayed next to the product options.
